How to trade multiple FTMO accounts at once.

Many FTMO traders run the same strategy on several accounts. Doing it by hand means placing the order again on every account and recalculating the lot size each time. Here’s what FTMO allows, how to size each account correctly and how to place one trade on all of them.

What FTMO allows

  • Any number of accounts. FTMO doesn’t limit how many accounts you hold.
  • A capital cap. Total capital across all your FTMO accounts is capped at $400,000 per trader or strategy (before scaling), counting 1-Step and 2-Step accounts together — for example four $100k or two $200k accounts.
  • Identical trading above the cap gets flagged. If the same or very similar trades run on accounts whose combined capital is over the limit, FTMO can suspend them.
  • One registration. Opening accounts under separate registrations to get around the limit isn’t allowed.
  • Your own trades only. Copying someone else’s trades or a signal service is a different story — and hedging long on one account against short on another is a prohibited practice at FTMO and most firms.

Rules change, so read FTMO’s own FAQ on multiple accounts before you scale up.

Size every account from its own risk

The same trade doesn’t mean the same lot size. If you risk 0.5% per trade, a $200k account should carry four times the lots of a $50k account. Copying a fixed lot size to every account quietly changes your risk on each one.

EURUSD long, entry 1.16500, stop 1.16250 (25 pips = $250 per lot) $50k × 0.5% = $250 → 1.00 lot $100k × 0.5% = $500 → 2.00 lots $200k × 0.5% = $1,000 → 4.00 lots

Three ways to place the trade

1. By hand, account by account

Open each account, type entry, stop-loss and take-profit, calculate the lots, send. It works for two accounts on a slow day. On a fast market the price moves while you type, and one wrong digit in a stop-loss can break a daily loss limit.

2. A trade copier

A copier mirrors trades from a master account to the others. Most copy lots with a fixed multiplier, so you have to set the ratio for every account size and keep it right when balances change. Some firms restrict cloud copiers — check your firm’s list. More in our cTrader trade copier guide.

3. Draw once, send to every account

With Trade Governor you draw a Long or Short Position on TradingView and send it to all selected FTMO cTrader accounts at once. Each account gets its own lot size from its own balance and risk, with the same stop-loss and take-profit — and a trade limit per account stops the extra trades you’d regret.

Before you start

  1. Pick cTrader as the platform when you buy each FTMO challenge.
  2. Keep combined capital for one strategy within FTMO’s cap.
  3. Set the risk per trade for each account so one losing day can’t hit its daily loss limit.
  4. Trade the same direction on every account — never long on one and short on another.
