GER40 lot size calculator (DAX).

Size your DAX trades from your risk. GER40 is priced in euros, so on a USD account the loss per point depends on EUR/USD — the calculator converts it for you.

%

Contract size = units per lot. For indices, metals and oil it differs between brokers — check the symbol’s lot size in your platform.

Trading several prop accounts? Trade Governor does this for every account from its own balance and risk — draw the position once on TradingView and it’s sent to all your cTrader accounts. See how it works →

Example: GER40 on a EUR account, 0.5% risk, contract size 1

Risk: 0.5% of €100,000 = €500 Stop distance: 24,000 − 23,960 = 40 points Loss per lot: 40 × 1 = €40 Position size: €500 ÷ €40 = 12.50 lots

DAX on a USD account

Switch the account currency to USD above: the loss per point is still in euros, so the calculator multiplies it by the EUR/USD rate. With a stronger euro you trade slightly fewer lots for the same dollar risk.

Contract size

GER40 is also listed as DE40, DAX40 or the older GER30. Brokers set their own contract size — check it in the symbol info and enter it above.

Chart the CFD, not the future

The DAX futures contract (FDAX) trades at a different price than the GER40 CFD. Measure your stop on the symbol you’ll trade.

Exchange rates are ECB reference rates from Frankfurter, updated once a working day. Results are guidance — check them against your platform before you trade.

Draw it once. That’s your order.
