US30 lot size calculator (Dow Jones).

Size your US30 trades from your risk. The Dow moves in large point swings, so a fixed lot size quietly changes your risk from trade to trade — calculate it from the stop every time.

%

Contract size = units per lot. For indices, metals and oil it differs between brokers — check the symbol’s lot size in your platform.

Example: US30 with 1% risk, contract size 1

Risk: 1% of $50,000 = $500 Stop distance: 46,000 − 45,880 = 120 points Loss per lot: 120 × 1 = $120 Position size: $500 ÷ $120 = 4.166 → 4.16 lots (risking $499.20)

US30 sizing notes

A 120-point stop on US30 is a normal intraday stop, but with a fixed 5 lots it would cost $600 — 20% more than planned. Sizing from the stop keeps every trade at the same risk.

Contract size

US30 is also listed as DJ30, WS30 or DJI30, and brokers set their own contract size. Check it in the symbol info and enter it above.

Chart the CFD, not the future

The Dow futures contract (YM) trades at a different price than the US30 CFD. Measure your stop on the symbol you’ll trade.

Exchange rates are ECB reference rates from Frankfurter, updated once a working day. Results are guidance — check them against your platform before you trade.
